Introducing GAP

TAS

The Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP) is a national initiative preparing and promoting retired greyhounds as pets that Tasracing operates in Tasmania. Our goal is to prepare these loveable dogs to transition from elite athlete to couch potatoes and find a permanent home to suit them after retiring from their racing career. In addition, we aim to educate the public on what gentle and affectionate pets these dogs really are, encourage a more positive image of the greyhound and stimulate the public’s desire to own a greyhound as a family pet.

Greyhounds for Adoption

Roo

Roo is an affectionate and playful boy who also shows a sensitive nature. He likes his routines and picks up routines quickly. He is easy to walk on lead and is mostly happy walking along on a loose lead, he walks up and down stairs and jumps into the back of the station wagon.

Fallon

Fallon is an affectionate and loving girl, she has completed foster care and is ready to find a home of her own.

Belle

Belle is a serious older lady, she will chase a ball but has no interest in bringing it back. She loves a good zoomie! Belle is always happy to see people and have a snuggle, she is a real people dog. She is happy and affectionate.
