VIC

GAP Victoria, is the most well known of GRV’s initiatives aimed at finding loving family homes for greyhounds who have retired from the racetrack. Our objectives are clear:

Facilitate the placement of retired racing greyhounds into suitable, caring households.
Promote a positive perception of greyhounds and foster public interest in adopting them as cherished family companions.
Provide comprehensive training and preparation for greyhounds transitioning into domestic life.
Offer ongoing guidance and assistance to both the greyhounds and their new families.

At GAP, we recognise the exceptional qualities of greyhounds as pets. While each greyhound possesses its own distinct personality traits, they generally exhibit traits of tranquility and gentleness that complement a family setting.

We firmly believe there's a greyhound for every lifestyle. Whether you seek an active and playful companion for outdoor activities or a serene and affectionate friend for quiet moments at home, GAP Victoria is dedicated to matching you with the perfect greyhound companion.

Greyhounds for Adoption

Sunday

Sunday's are the best day's when this girl has anything to do with it! She is a sweet, friendly, personable girl that has her bags pack and ready to find a place to call her own. She loves to be "Easy like a Sunday morning" and is a sucker for a warm sunny spot for a snooze. Sunday has recently completed her extra behavioural training program and we are happy she is now ready for her next adventure. We think she may suit kids 5+, try as an only dog or with medium to large male companion and full time workers.

Teejay

Teejay has been living as a pet for several years but her owner has become unwell and can no longer care for her. She is used to being Queen Bee and does not like to share her home with other dogs; in fact, she can be quite grumpy with them. She needs a home where she is the only dog and ideally her people are around some of the day. While she is lively and excitable when she first comes out of the kennels, she quickly settles and walks beautifully on the lead.

Antheia

Antheia has a friendly and happy nature, and she just loves to play! She's looking for a home with a backyard she can do the occasional zoomie in - no apartments or units for this outgoing girl! Antheia would likely suit a home with children aged 10 or over, and is fine as an only dog . She is still very much a puppy at heart. Antheia is heading out for Easter foster and will be available soon.
